What is a self-serviced apartment?

A self-serviced apartment is the perfect blend of home away from home. You can cook, eat, work, rest and play in a fully furnished apartment just like you would in the comfort and privacy of your own home.

How equipped are your kitchens?

All of our accommodations have fully fitted kitchens, so you can cook up a storm as often as you wish. Each kitchen contains a hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, and they are all fully equipped with all the utensils, crockery and cutlery to meet your cooking and dining needs. All you need to bring are the recipes and know-how! Of course, you can also order in or eat out. It’s up to you. This freedom and flexibility is central to the StayMela experience.

Are your apartments centrally located?

Yes. This too is key to the StayMela experience. All of our apartments are centrally located across Malta’s most popular towns and cities. So, whether you’re staying for business, pleasure or both, you’re always in the heart of the action.

Do you accept ‘bachelor/stag’ or ‘hen’ parties?

Unfortunately StayMela is unable to accept ‘bachelor/stag’ or ‘hen’ parties.

Booking and payment

How do I book?

The best way to book is directly with us on StayMela.com. And if you join our loyalty club, you enjoy unbeatable rates and 10% off every time you book on staymela.com, as well as a range of exclusive member benefits you won’t get anywhere else. These include priority early check-in, complimentary late check-out up to 11:30am and free cancellation up to 24 hours prior to arrival.

We also have a reservations team available to take your booking or answer any questions you may have. They are available between 8am and 6pm GMT Monday to Friday and from 8am to 3pm on Saturdays. They speak English, French, Italian, Spanish and German. View our Reservations Centre contact details

Are taxes included in the price?

As supply of service is deemed local, VAT is applied to the apartment price at 7%. Apartments are also subject to a local accommodations tax in addition to the rates booked.

What is your cancellation policy?

This depends on the rate you’ve booked on our website. Please see more details on the policies below.

1) Fully Flexible rates are payable on booking, but should your plans change at the last minute you can avail of free cancellation online up to 3pm the day prior to arrival. If cancelled outside of this the first night will be charged.
2) Semi Flexible rates are payable on booking, but you can still cancel for free online up until 3pm 3 days before arrival.
3) Our ‘Pay now and Save’ rates are non-refundable.

How can I cancel my booking?

If you booked a free cancellation rate you can cancel online. Please ensure that you have the email address you used to make your booking and the confirmation number.

If you booked a free cancellation rate but paid upfront, you can still cancel online and your card will be fully refunded.

What cards do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards.

Do you accept cash payment?

No, we are a cashless business.

Can I amend my booking?

At this time, you can change the name of the lead guest on your booking. You can also amend the dates of your booking up to 7 days before check-ing in.

Check-in and check-out

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 3pm, and check-out is by 10am.

Do you offer early check-in and late check-out?

For early arrivals we will attempt to facilitate early check-in. Alternatively, we will store luggage until the apartment is ready. Late check-outs are subject to availability and charged at €10 per hour.

Is there a minimum age for check-in?

Yes. To check in, a guest must be 18 or older. If not, they must be accompanied by an adult over 18.

Do you require a security deposit?

We may require a security deposit of €50 per person upon check-in. If so, it will be fully refunded upon departure once all is in order with the apartment and its contents and no disturbance has taken place.

Eating and drinking

Will the apartment have basic items like bottled water, coffee and tea when we arrive?

To help you settle in we provide a small welcome offering including basic items such as bottled still water, sugar, tea, coffee, salt and pepper.

Can I bring food back?

You are free to bring food back to StayMela apartments, from takeout to groceries to cook your own meals. It’s up to you.

Facilities and services

Do you provide towels and bed linen?

Yes we do, so no need to bring your own.

Is there an apartment cleaning service?

There’s no scheduled clean of your apartment for stays of ten nights or less. Washing up liquid, a sponge, disposable cloth, tea towels, dustpan and brush and bin bags are provided in your apartment. Mops and floor brushes (if not already in your apartment) are available upon request. For an additional cost, we can arrange fresh bed linen, towels and cleaning supplies to be safely delivered to your door. This avoids entry to your apartment as part of our COVID-19 protocols.

Do you have free WiFi?

Of course. All our apartments offer complimentary, industry-leading highspeed WiFi throughout all rooms.

Do you offer on-site parking?

Many of our properties have private and secure on-site parking (at an extra charge and depending on availability). However, all properties have free on-street parking.

Can I bring my pet?

Yes, we allow small pets which are well trained. Naturally, guide dogs and assistance dogs are always welcome.

Do you provide cots and high chairs?

Yes, we provide complimentary cots (up to two years) and high chairs on request. Ask a member of our reservations team so they’re in your apartment when you arrive, or a member of staff on-site during your stay.

We have children, can we get extra beds in the room?

Extra beds for older children are not available; they will need to be factored into the number of beds/sofa beds already available in your apartment.

Can you arrange an airport transfer for me?

Ask our reservations team, they will be happy to recommend a provider for you.

Is there an iron available?

Yes we have an iron and ironing board in all apartments.

Do you have hair dryers in the rooms?

Yes we have hair dryers in all StayMela apartments.

Do you provide laundry services?

All our apartments offer in-house laundry facilities. You can make use of washing machine and tumble dryer which is situated in your own apartment.

Yes we have special discounted rates of up to 30% for those looking for weekly or monthly stays.
